BLUE RIDGE MEDICAL CENTER EARNS GOLD MEDAL HONORS

The Blue Ridge Medical Center, located at 2855 Old Highway 5 North, has received special recognition for efforts to advance healthcare quality and safety for its patients.

The medical center has been awarded a Gold Medal from Health Quality Innovators (HQI), as part of the Health Quality Improvement Contractors Recognition Program.

“Our team is honored to receive this recognition,” said Melissa Eaton, chief operating officer of Blue Ridge Medical Center.  “This award reflects the unwavering dedication of our staff to enhancing the health and safety of the patients we serve in our community.”

Blue Ridge Medical Center was awarded the Gold Medal based on its performance in 30 specific areas, including: consistent improvement or sustainment of performance in key quality and patient safety measures; high levels of engagement and participation throughout the contract; and implementation of critical leadership initiatives, family and patient engagement strategies, and health equity measures.

“We are thrilled to be acknowledged for our commitment to quality and compliance,” said Shelly Stiles, facility officer and quality/risk manager.  “This achievement underscores the collaborative spirit of our team as we continue to strive for excellence in the care we provide.”

Blue Ridge Medical Center, a nonprofit facility, offers a broad range of services, including emergency care, inpatient services, labs & imaging, an infusion center, outpatient surgery and cardiac rehabilitation.

Health Quality Innovators is an independent, nonprofit consulting organization that partners with hospitals and healthcare associations, among other organizations, to improve healthcare services.
