New business offers fine-dining experience in the comfort of home

After more than 30 years of preparing meals at a variety of successful restaurants, Chef George Lochli is taking his skills on the road.  

Literally.

Chef George’s new concept, Blue Ridge Cabin Cuisine, offers customers the best of both worlds: enjoying a fine dining experience while never leaving the comfort of home (or cabin getaway).

This is the culmination of a long-time dream for Lochli, who has developed a wide range of culinary specialties and expertise over the years, including the last eight in Blue Ridge.   

“I have had a successful career, often serving 250-300 meals in an evening,” Lochli said. “But I was ready for something new. We are offering people a chance to enjoy a personal fine-dining experience in their own home, cooked and prepared in their kitchen.

“Blue Ridge seems to be a great market for this. Cabin renters will be a target audience.”

Lochli begins the process with a phone conversation, followed by a face-to-face consultation to discuss menu preferences and other options. As part of the service, Blue Ridge Cabin Cuisine does all the grocery shopping, as well as on-site preparation and serving.

“We can offer everything from an intimate, two-person, five-course gourmet experience to a family friendly menu of comfort foods,” said Lochli, who is assisted onsite by Sous Chef Olivia Williams.

In addition to the private, personal-chef experience, Blue Ridge Cabin Cuisine offers a variety of other boutique services, including interactive cooking classes for private groups.
