Mercier Orchards honored as third best in the U.S.

Now the whole nation knows: Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge is a great place to find apples.

A recent edition of USA Today, one of the nation’s most widely circulated news sources, highlighted the Top 10 orchards in the nation, as selected by experts and voted on by readers. Mercier Orchards finished third on the list, finishing behind an orchard in New York state and another in Maine.

Mercier Orchards, which was started in 1943 by Bill and Adele Mercier, remains family owned and operated, attracting swarms of apple lovers from across the southeast region. The orchards parking lot, as well as its reputation, has expanded through the generations.

Numerous varieties of apples, baked goods, pies, as well as wine and cider, are available at Mercier Orchards. Visiting the orchards during the August to November season has become an annual event for many families across the region, bringing thousands of visitors to Fannin County.
