In The News Observer: Update on Whitepath building progress

October 29, 2024

The newly renovated Whitepath building was the site for a recent gathering of members of the Fannin County Development Authority (FCDA). Executive Director Erick Youngberg told the group that it's been a good year, and shared financial updates and a progress report, according to an article that appeared in the Oct. 23 edition of The News Observer.

Youngberg announced that the FCDA hired a financial advisor through an accounting firm and spent approximately $10,000 instead of the anticipated $35,000 on a new website. The site also earned the praise of the communication director.

Whitepath renovations are about 95 percent complete; the remaining focus will be on the roof. The contractor, Cool Roofs, expects the roof will need patching rather than replacing.

While "a year ago, this wasn't a favorable asset to Fannin," Youngberg said the Whitepath transformation can be considered a success. Currently, UPS, Mason Tractor and Solar are leasing space. More space is available to rent, and includes utilities and internet, with a proposed rate of $2 per square foot.

The Whitepath building is in Blue Ridge at 118 Industrial Boulevard. Premium subscribers to The News Observer can read the full story at Improvements, cash flow topics at FCDA meet | The News Observer, Blue Ridge, Georgia
