The mission of CRPI is to foster innovation and economic development in rural Georgia.  It will do so by working with public and private community stakeholders to identify projects that will lead to prosperity through employment and economic activity.  The CRPI will employ an outcome-based approach focusing on highly-coordinated project management that draws on the functional assets and resources of cooperating agencies and institutions.  Leveraging the human talent and facility assets of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the financial and skill assets of various public and private entities to identify target communities and their respective opportunities, the Center will then plan and manage projects from start to completion.

CRPI fulfills its mission using an in-house staff of project specialists, each serving a region of the State and is assisted by Center Staff and contract subject matter experts.  Each project specialist is hired with a particular area of expertise that can enhance the strength of the program.  In this case, the incumbent will have territorial responsibility for Northeast Georgia.  Furthermore, CRPI is seeking a person with experience and knowledge in state and federal agency programs that can support economic development in rural communities.  The incumbent will have demonstrated experience and success in working with community leaders to advance community and economic development.

Education – bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, business administration, accounting, or a closely-related field.

Experience –five to eight years of experience in project assessment, development, and/or management with emphasis on tourism, hospitality, small business, and community and economic development.  Experience working with state and locally elected officials highly preferred.

Communication – strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

**Willingness to travel – because the CRPI serves a statewide mission, the successful candidate must be willing to travel.  Based out of the CRPI Ellijay office, the Regional Services Representative will cover the northeast region of the state, cultivating relationships with community and economic development partners.

Desired skills/attributes:  The successful candidate must be self-motivated, outcome-oriented, capable of independent work, but also able to work with a diverse team of collaborators.

Reporting line: The incumbent will report directly to the Associate Director of the Center for Rural Prosperity and Innovation.
