Many of the area’s small business owners started off as visitors and now call Fannin County home.  A recent study revealed that over 70% of Fannin County businesses employ 10 or fewer employees.  Community leaders realize the vital role of small business to the local economy and have made a commitment to supporting and growing small business in the area.  As a result of this ongoing commitment, Fannin County was recently named the 3rd Entrepreneur Friendly Community in Georgia by the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Appalachian Technical College
A wide range of educational and business assistance opportunities are offered by Appalachian Technical College. Programs range from Microsoft Office and Real Estate Pre-licensure, to Accounting and CNA.  Appalachian Tech Economic Development Department can also provide low cost customized training programs to prepare your workforce.
 
Business Associations
Join one of the local business associations and find not only a support network of fellow business owners but, also promotional opportunities for your business.  In addition to the Chamber of Commerce, the Blue Ridge Business Association and the Tri-Cities Business Association provide great networking opportunities and organize events and promotional materials for the downtown areas.  In addition, the community also has active Rotary and Kiwanis chapters.
